Defend Occupy Chicago
This just in. The good folks at the Prop Thtr are hosting a two-day benefit for the Occupy Chicago Legal Defense Fund. This is at least partly in support of Occupy Chi’s attempts to secure a permanent home, as Rahm Emanuel and the CPD continue their own attempts to bash and diffuse the movement.
The event takes place November 19th and 20th at the Prop Thtr, 3502 North Elston. Admission is $10, which will get you entrance and a raffle ticket for an original piece of art or services from one of the event’s sponsors. Of special note, Mark Siska’s 45-minute work-in-progress documentary about the movement will be screened on a video loop.

November 19: doors open at 10 p.m. and will feature Jerry Boyle, JaGoFF, Mark Siska, Steve Walters, Shane Swank, Jason Wyatt Fredrick, and Erin Page.
November 20: 6 p.m. and features Bobby Conn, Mark Siska, Tom Palazzolo, Beau O’Reilly, Occupy Chi Organizers, and Chicago Hip Hop Initiative.
